Archontiko Eleni (Eleni Mansion) is a 19th Century neoclassical building which adorns the entrance to the market of Chora and combines the neoclassical nobility and the traditional hospitality of the Greek islands with the most modern hotel equipment, offering visitors a convenient and pleasant stay.
It was build at the end of the 19th century by Alexandros Empirikos and it was intended as his residence. At first, it was changed into a hospital; later on it housed various services, while during the last years it housed the High School of Andros. Now the building has been renovated with good taste by Eleni and Giannis Koutsoukos. The rooms are all air – conditioned, with central heating, TV, mini bar, safe, telephone, shower and hair – dryer. They are all furnished tastefully, with perfect arrangement and a harmonious combination of colors. Archontiko Eleni is a first class hotel open all year long, and constitutes a model of neoclassical architecture and modern functionalism for the island.
